Context

CIFOR-ICRAF researchers work with large volumes of scientific data, field observations, maps, statistics and research findings. For a major scientific assembly, this material needed to become clear, visually structured, print-ready research posters able to communicate complex findings quickly to a demanding institutional audience.

Client objectives

Make complex research understandable at a glance without compromising its substance: organize a large volume of technical information — scientific findings, methodologies, maps, tables, field photography — into a coherent visual narrative that works both from a distance and up close.

Our strategy

A consistent visual communication system built in four steps: understanding each study (context, research question, methodology, results, implications, conclusion), structuring information into key messages versus supporting detail, visualizing data through charts, maps and tables, and designing for print and in-person presentation.

Our intervention

Five research posters produced across distinct themes: cocoa agroforestry in the Republic of Congo, bamboo propagation in Cameroon, agroforestry adoption in Northern Cameroon, land restoration in Central Africa, and the impact of Faidherbia albida on maize and cotton yields.
